Local Backend Engineer

Salary Range: 70K - 90K THB + Early stage equity

About the role:

As Local Backend Engineer, you'll build and scale the backend systems that process Pync's most critical data — real-time biometric signals from pets around the world. You'll own infrastructure, APIs, and data pipelines that sit at the core of everything Pync does.

This role is perfect for a backend engineer who wants high ownership, loves solving hard distributed systems problems, and cares about building products that make a real difference.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for real-time biometric data
• Design and implement event-driven pipelines and data processing systems
• Own and improve cloud infrastructure — reliability, scalability, and observability
• Collaborate with mobile and ML teams on data contracts and integration
• Contribute to architecture decisions and engineering best practices
• Move fast and take ownership in a high-trust, startup environment

We’re looking for:

• Loves pets and animals, and wants to help shape the future of pet care together with the team at Pync
• 3+ years building production backend systems and cloud infrastructure
• Strong experience with distributed systems and scalable API architecture
• Proficient in modern backend technologies — Node.js, Go, Python, or similar
• Comfortable across cloud platforms and infrastructure tooling
• Solid understanding of databases, event-driven systems, and real-time data processing
• Moves fast with high ownership in a startup environment
• Strong product intuition and systems thinking
